Unemployment Rate versus the Labor Force Participation Rate

On June 1, 2018, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released the May Employment Report . It begins: Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 223,000 in May, and the unemployment rate edged down to 3.8 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today.
